. . comments Believe me, I'm not often proud of my own work. In fact, I almost always dislike it. But this time I can say I'm DAMN proud of it. It's full of detail, even on 100% (I uploaded a version of barely 40%), so I think you guys can expect some details soon! ^^ I guess this is one of my best tails ever, and I made the splashes myself with my own brush Really, I'm soo happy with this one, hope you guys enjoy it too! And if you are boring or having loads of time, I'd really like some critique! I always think it's fun to read that. Even if you don't have things you like less you can write what you like so much at this picture, so I know how to make my manips 'actractive'^^ ... I never written a critique before, but as an artist, i understand how much they help us. here we go
I am a fan of your work, and right off the bat, this has really jumped out at me in my overloaded devwatch
Personally i find using brushes within manipulations takes a bit of planning and adjusting of the brushes in order to create that nice flow with the picture. Being able to create a detail with brushes on a manipulation (which is photobased) requires a lot of work and a careful eye. Looking at the splash of the water you have created is very realistic and well placed. The splash is dynamic like it would be in real life, and there is fine spray as well as thick splashes. It is so evenly worked into the picture that I swear it could be real!
Manipulations can be tedious with working with light sources (i for one feel this way at least) In this picture, it is very clear that you really took all the lighting into account on every object in the picture. The water reflects the light source, and you have even touched up the horse where the light would be present, that totally blends everything together, and makes it more visually appealing!
Now, my favorite part.... THE MANE AND TAIL I can't even being to tell you how well detailed and beautiful they are. The tail is just amazing, you really took into account how the light is working with the tail, and creating that transparent effect, where the light kicks thorugh the strands, yet stays darker at the base. That in itself can be very trickey, and knowing how to use the colors, and using the white lightly as it being the hottest spot on the picture. I can't wait to see a close up detail of it, cause it's just beautiful!
you really have went above and beyond in this picture, even adding reflection of the horse on the sand, where in reallife it would be there cause the sand would be wet, I am a fan of that look, and it's just done beautifully.
Overall this is an amazing piece, and I know it will get lots of praise and favs!
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! this is like..one second..-picks up jaw from floor- ok...crap, hold on..-picks up jaw again and hold it in place- ok. This is amazing!!
I agree with you the tail is well done ^^ Really cool! I can't criticise, because I don't even know how to do manupilation but I think your picture here looks good.
